The Educational Terrain
As we move to the closing of this course, we begin to focus on our
Educational Terrain. An Educational
Terrain includes your understanding of how educational theory enhances lessons inclusive
of your stance related to the remaining textbook topics, expanded by your extended
research within the topical areas. The remaining topics include Effective
Lessons, Grouping Differentiation and Technology, Student Motivation, The
Learning Environment, Students with Exceptionalities, Assessing Student
Learning, and Standardized Tests and Accountability. In consideration, knowledge of educational
theory, cognitive, social, behavioral, becomes the foundation of effective
lesson design. The learning environment
aids to the effective lesson design. Educational theory assists in the
ability to understand the learner which provides insight as to the teacher's ability
to motivate students to learn. When preparing
for effective lessons mastery teachers consider the learning environment, student motivation, the methodology, inclusive
of grouping, differentiation, and the use of technology. It is these critical
areas which become the focus of the Educational Terrain.
The Educational Terrain will be research-based and
will include citations from the course text and that of other references.
The Educational Terrain will be written using APA format and style that
Includes a cover page, headers, an abstract, citation from 7 or more
references, followed by a reference page. The 7 references will make relation
to the remaining chapters of the course and will be based on your extended
research related to the chapter topics. When writing your Educational Terrain
provide topically related headings to assist with your written
organization. Avoid using 1st
person narrative since by doing so your writing will seem more impacting and convincing.
The following schedule for the remaining of the course will assist in the
